Governance Statement 2019

School Governors undertake a really important strategic role in the development of schools, and form part of the largest volunteer group in the country.

The role of the Governing Board (from the Governance Handbook, 2017) is as follows:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction

  • Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff

  • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent

The Governors at Rollesby really look forward to parents coming forward to join our team. They take their role very seriously and expect that all Governors attend meetings as well as training to fully understand their role. They are not involved in things like fund raising, nor do they get involved in the day-to-day running of the school. Their key role is ensuring the best possible education for the children in the school and moving the school forward to be the best it can be.

The Governance statement includes a table of attendance at Full Governing Body meetings and Committee meetings.

A Register of Business Interests is kept. Every Governor listed below has declared they have no business or pecuniary interests in Rollesby Primary School and Nursery apart from Mrs. Brown who works for Educator Solutions. Our Governors do not undertake Governance roles in other schools.
